The Modified Academy of Fencing originated in 1978 and is registered at the Hackensack Borough Hall as a non profit organization dedicated to educating people on the benefits of the art of fencing. Because we have changed some of rules concerning this fine art, we feel that the name "Modified Academy of Fencing" is appropriate.

We focus primarily on safety, sportsmanship, technique and enjoyment. Our program for the most part is conducted in schools under the heading of Continuing Education. Our program course covers ages from 8 years to 80 years old and is all co-ed. Many of our fencers become state and international champions and some start new careers involved with fencing.

The average cost for a 10-week semester is less than $100.00. This is for an hour and a half program per week with all equipment provided free (for beginners only) for use during the class. Fencing is an excellent way of maintaining total physical and mental fitness.
